There are two excellent clay shooting grounds close to Alhaurín el Grande; both have spectacular settings and hold National Championships. Shooting against the background of blue skies the clays are, to use a well known shooter's expression, "... like dustbin lids"!

Jarapalo SG
Situated around 15 minutes from Villa Las Palmeras on
the Málaga road, this is one of Andalucia's most prestigious grounds.
National Championships are also held here too, and it is easy to see why.
The entrance to the ground is through the white archway which has many different
flags on the top, and the words "Real Sociedad de Tiro de Pichon" underneath.
On most weekdays shooting is with tokens which you buy from the office to put
into machines so that traps can be operated automatically, saving waiting time
for trappers. There is a very sumptuous clubhouse, although this is only
open at weekends so take water/snacks with you on other days. (Toilet
facilities are open all week.) Mostly Spanish is
spoken here but you will get by with signs and gestures and there are often
English shooters around. Closed Monday all day and Tuesday mornings, and
the rest of the week opens after 11am. Disciplines on offer are:
| Olympic Trap | |
| Universal Trench | |
| Skeet | |
| Robot | |
| Cartridges are available at the ground. |
